Snow, Bikes, and Speeltuinen - Our Netherlands Adventure!

Our move to the Netherlands was marked by the invaluable assistance of IR Olav, who made the transition smoother than we could have imagined. From coordinating necessary appointments to providing Dutch lessons, IR Olav's guidance not only enabled us to communicate but also offered insights into Dutch culture even before our arrival.

We arrived in a snow-covered winter wonderland and everything looked picture perfect. Every corner seemed to be painted with perfection, setting the stage for a new chapter in our lives.

Navigating the intricacies of public transport presented its challenges, leading to a few comical mishaps along the way. However, what quickly became evident was the reliability of Dutch public transport—it simply worked!

Eager to embrace the Dutch way of life, we wasted no time in acquiring bicycles. Even though neither of us have ridden a bike in about 20 years, it proved to be a catalyst for new adventures. From cycling past the beautiful houses of Blaricum and Laren to exploring the enchanting forests that surrounded us, each pedal stroke unveiles a new facet of Dutch beauty.  For our children, the highlight of our cycling escapades is undoubtedly the abundance of "speeltuinen" scattered throughout the countryside.

What truly makes our experience in the Netherlands exceptional is the overwhelming sense of safety and tranquility. Riding our bikes through the streets, we feel a profound sense of ease, knowing that we are part of a community that prioritizes well-being and relaxation.

As we reflect on our journey thus far, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to live in the Netherlands. Each day unfolds a new adventure, and we eagerly anticipate the chapters that lie ahead.
