    Java Developer

    Senior (5 - 10 yrs)

    This role

As a Java Developer, you contribute to building digital solutions that streamline processes, allowing users to manage tasks more efficiently online. Your work enhances user experiences, making it easier for organizations to serve their clients directly. By asking insightful questions and leveraging technologies like Java 17, Docker, and Spring Boot 3, you continuously improve the software, making it more intuitive for users and internal teams alike.

You are part of a close-knit R&D team that drives innovation and product development. This department, consisting of 30 to 35 dedicated professionals, collaborates closely to tackle technical challenges and achieve meaningful results together.

In your role, you are a key player in the R&D team, constantly challenging the status quo and asking the right questions to ensure the applications meet user needs. You bring value both independently and with your team by:

    • Collaborating during refinement sessions to assess requirements and make informed decisions with your team.

    • Developing, testing, and documenting creative solutions, both your own and those of your team members.

    • Ensuring the highest quality code through continuous monitoring, improvement, and problem-solving.

    • Actively contributing to the team’s growth by seeking collaboration and suggesting improvements to processes and solutions.

    • Questioning conventional methods, helping the team evolve from “this is how we do it” to “this is how we can do it better.”

    • Sharing knowledge and reviewing work every two weeks to enhance development practices and standards.

    • Staying ahead of technological changes and introducing new tools when necessary to keep the development environment evolving.

Your role is crucial in maintaining the quality and innovation of the product, ensuring that it continues to meet the needs of users in a dynamic, fast-changing landscape.

    Company profile

Our client, a consulting firm that offers SaaS, has been deeply rooted in the local government ICT market for decades. It puts this experience at the service of its clients in the public domain, and the increasing number of challenges they face.

With 350 dedicated employees in market-oriented domains, our client works on the solutions of today and tomorrow. As a co-creator of public services, it supports its clients in using innovative solutions to carry out social tasks as effectively and cost-efficiently as possible. Just over half of all municipalities in the Netherlands (ca.175), use our clients‘ software. With this Cloud application, municipalities record the most important moments in their residents‘ lives. Registering a child, registering a marriage or applying for a driver‘s license, for example.

Their software is therefore the beating heart of the civil affairs environment of the Dutch municipalities. Among other things, our client ensures that they continue to innovate and optimize collaborations with other (government) institutions. But also that current legislation and regulations are continuously up-to-date. This requires sustainable, creative, and smart solutions that work.

Dedicated, entrepreneurial and progressive. This is how our client adds value and changes public services for good.
